1. Page Formatting – Using Page Border & Watermark


Page Border

  • A Page Border is a decorative line around the page.

  • It makes the document look attractive and professional.


Steps to Add Page Border:

  1. Go to Design Tab → Page Background Group → Page Borders.

  2. Choose Style, Color, Width, and Art (designs).

  3. Apply to whole document or selected sections.


Uses:

  • Certificates, Invitations, Title Pages, Reports.


Watermark

  • A Watermark is a faint text or image that appears in the background of a page.

  • It is often used for branding, security, or identification.


Steps to Add Watermark:

  1. Go to Design Tab → Page Background Group → Watermark.

  2. Choose built-in options like Confidential, Draft, Sample OR create a Custom Watermark (text/image).


Uses:

  • To mark documents as Confidential, Draft, Official, Company Logo.

2. Text Editing using Various Features

Editing means making changes in text to correct, improve, or update a document. MS Word provides many editing tools:


Basic Editing Features

  1. Cut, Copy, Paste

    • Move or duplicate text (Ctrl + X, Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V).

  2. Undo & Redo

    • Undo (Ctrl + Z) → Reverses last action.

    • Redo (Ctrl + Y) → Re-applies last undone action.

  3. Find & Replace

    • Find → Locate specific word/phrase in the document.

    • Replace → Replace it with another word automatically.

    • Shortcut: Ctrl + H.

  4. Insert & Delete

    • Add or remove text, images, or objects.

Advanced Editing Features

  1. Spelling & Grammar Check

    • Identifies and corrects errors. (Shortcut: F7).

  2. Thesaurus

    • Suggests synonyms/antonyms for words.

  3. AutoCorrect & AutoText

    • Automatically fixes common spelling/typing mistakes.

    • AutoText stores reusable text blocks.

  4. Track Changes & Comments

    • Used in collaborative editing to see what changes are made.

  5. Clipboard (Office Clipboard)

    • Stores multiple copied items for re-use.
